But the current political scenario does make it important and describes how political affiliations are made, broken and often changed on personal agendas and motives.
MQM and Altaf Hussain are supporting Musharraf staunchly with full vigor and valor, but, according to Hamid Mir, at one point in time, Musharraf was so bigot about Altaf Hussain that he didn’t even hide his prejudice while talking to some journalists. But lateron when Musharraf was in dire need of MQM support, they came very close to each other. MQM was given key posts and ministries and Musharraf, in turn, was bestowed with indefatigable support.
(and it must also be noted that at one point in time, Altaf Hussain showered his own hatred to Musharraf by calling him DOG. It happened during the very offing of Musharraf regime. But subseqently he changed altogether and now, the strongest voice against Musharraf's execution is of MQM.)
